Its summers are short and cool and the winters cold, long and hard, to which snow and strong winds are not unheard of.
The Norwegian Forest cat, over time, evolved defense mechanisms to survive in the wild, this icy landscape, where the 1st winter was the acid test, a kind of natural selection, in which the strongest and most capable would survive.

However, the harshness of its habitat doesn't appear to have interfered in their temper, which has no wild or feral traits.
The beauty of this gentle and docile forest cat, quickly captivated humans.
