I'm breeding Norwegian Forest cats since 2008 and registered my cattery in 2009.

My interest is to give known more about this wonderful breed, which I madly fallen in love.

I wish to welcome who visit my Cattery Forest Myths, located in a small village called Condeixa, on the outskirts of Coimbra.

My name's Andrea, I've 31 years old and over me, I have to say that my initial project was balanced between opening an animal's store and make breeding of a specific cat breed, considering i love cats ...
In fact, i chose after some time, to make Norwegian Forest cat breeding, when i purchased my first Norwegian Forest cat - Jynx.
I was so impressed with his amazing and well established personality, that i no longer could get out of this record.
It's a semi-wild domestic cat, with amazing skills and features.

My main purpose in this breeding, is to make them grow strong, healthy, with a wonderful temper and maintain their typical wild profile, the closest to the standard of the breed.

I rather have a few cats, but still quality cats. I want to spend as much time as i can get with each one and with the kittens that usually require more attention and affection, and to be able to give the assurance that they leave my house in the best conditions of health and socialization.

The cats live and sleep with me at home, but they have also access to the garden and they can run and play whenever they want ...

Since I was little i love animals and i was always surrounded by all kind, and in fact, I can't feel happy, if i don't have any pet with me, who waits for me every day at the door and which I have to take care and pamper!
Despite the cat itself has a special meaning for me, I admire his independence, his courage, personality and character.

Besides always have been associated to the animals protective society and already have amateur experience in Persian and German shepherds breeding, amongst others ..

Advantages of having a cat

All animals are a tremendous source of affection!

There are several reasons to have at least one cat at home. Here are some of the many benefits of having a companion of velvet paws in the house:

  • Cats are easy to treat;
  • It is not necessary to take them  to the street, they are very clean;
  • They do not make noise;
  • Can live in apartments, even if they are small;
  • Like our company, but they can be alone at home while we are away;
  • The only costs are the vaccines, food, sand and perhaps veterinarian in case of accident or illness;
  • Enjoys playing and is very sweet;
  • He's devoted;
  • May live up to 20 years, although not usually exceed 15 years.

Cats in Business

From the U.S., the idea has all chances to become fashion and get to us in the case of a sincere expectations. For some time, many traders, let their cats roam freely in the shop, office or premises.

Here in Coimbra, we have some examples in the downtown, in the street Visconde da Luz. Today, the communication or advertising agencies, do not hesitate to allow their employees, to bring their dog or cat to the workplace. As the cat do not appreciate the means of transport, he's usually "adopted" in a permanent way in the space and treated as the mascot, where he will clearly create a new union around itself and change the atmosphere.
It is extremely beneficial to work with a cat, considering he's a tremendous catalyst for relationships and emotions ...
